Next year, the carrier, which operates 18 of Love Field’s 20 gates, will begin nonstop flights between Dallas and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. The route will operate once each day except for Saturdays according to Southwest.
Southwest is also expanding at other key airports across Texas and the U.S. In Austin, it’ll begin service to Detroit and San Jose, Costa Rica, while also increasing service to Steamboat Springs and Montrose, Colo., from the capital.

Southwest said its March 2027 schedule is unique in that the airline will have an increase in daily flights compared to March of this year. It will be the second consecutive year that the airline is adding to its schedule from Love Field. Earlier this year, Southwest began flights between Dallas and Seattle, San Francisco, Oklahoma City and more.
