Police detained one person for questioning, but no arrests have been made in the deadly stabbing on 18th Street.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 56-year-old man died after he was stabbed on Corpus Christi’s West Side Thursday night, according to police.

Corpus Christi police officers responded to the 1700 block of 18th Street around 9:45 p.m. They found the injured man and provided first aid until paramedics arrived.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.

Police detained another person at the scene for questioning, but no arrests have been made.

Investigators said the people involved knew each other and described the stabbing as an isolated incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
