Deputy was not hit, but the suspect got away

HOUSTON – The Harris County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office says one person was shot in the chest at a car wash in southeast Houston Friday and the fleeing suspect allegedly fired a shot at a pursuing deputy.
It happened in the 10800 block of Sabo Road around noon Friday.
The constable’s office says a deputy in an unmarked unit was flagged down by a witness who said someone at the car wash had been shot. The witness was able to point the deputy in the direction of the fleeing suspect.
As the deputy was attempted to apprehend the suspect, the constable’s office says the individual fired a shot toward the deputy.
The deputy was not hit, but the suspect got away. Authorities have not provided a description of the suspect at this time.
The victim at the car wash had a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The person’s condition is unknown.
