Have a Madewell women’s sweater from TJ Maxx in your closet? You might want to take a close look at the tag to see if it’s part of a nationwide recall. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the clothing violates mandatory flammability standards and could pose a risk of serious burn injuries or even death.
There has been one report of a sweater catching fire. Though no injuries have been reported, per the CPSC.
The label has “Madewell” printed on the neck. The recalled sweaters have “Style #NT611” or “Style #NT612” and “HO24” printed on the sewn-in side seam label, according to a recall filing.
CPSC said customers purchased the sweaters on the Madewell website and at TJ Maxx stores nationwide from December 2024 through October 2025. They retailed between $138 and $148.
If you have one of these sweaters, stop wearing it immediately and contact the company for a full refund in the original payment form or store credit. Customers who opt for a refund must cut the sweater in half, send a photo of the destroyed sweater to 24-7@madewell.com and then dispose of the product. Full instructions here.
