Back-to-school season is getting a playful twist at Legacy West. Beginning July 27, Plano’s lifestyle destination will launch Legacy West University, a month-long series of interactive events, themed installations and hands-on experiences inspired by campus life.

Running throughout August, the programming features activities for both adults and children, all centered around the fictional pursuit of a degree in “Lifestyle Management.” The best part? No homework required.

Strike A Pose At The Locker Installation

The first stop on campus is a colorful back-to-school locker installation designed for photos and social media moments. Located in the parklet near Nike and Free People along Windrose Avenue, the installation opens on July 27, and serves as the backdrop for professional first-day-of-school photo sessions taking place July 31 through Aug. 2 and Aug. 7 through Aug. 9. Photo sessions are $10 per group or family.

Build Your Own Class Schedule

Legacy West University’s course catalog offers something for nearly every interest throughout August. Families can enjoy Art Class with Amber Lee, where children participate in interactive craft sessions led by the local art teacher, or join children’s author Rebecca Clark during Field Trips with Witty Kids, an outdoor literacy-focused event for ages 4 to 10.

Adults can enroll in The Art of the Pour, a hands-on cocktail-making class at Whiskey Moon inside the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel, or learn the science and history behind brewing coffee during Charles Ray’s Coffee Roasting Class.

Pop Quiz with Urban Trivia Live at Legacy Hall, featuring Black culture trivia and cash prizes (18+)
Band Practice, Legacy Hall’s monthly Wednesday night karaoke
PE Class with the Legacy West Run Club every Sunday morning
Music Class, featuring free live music on Saturday evenings

Each event offers its own registration requirements, ticket pricing or admission details.

The programming is designed to encourage visitors to explore Legacy West while enjoying experiences that blend entertainment, creativity, wellness and community.
