For many who live on the west side, the opening represents more than just a new place to eat. Residents say the area has often been overlooked when it comes to attracting new restaurants and commercial development. Olive Garden officials say they hope the new location will help encourage additional investment while also supporting existing local businesses. Gloria Fuentes, Vice President of memberships, sales, and engagement saying:
“Let people know that we need to have more businesses here so that way we can see more people come to this area, revitalize this area. It’s so important that people come to the west side and help support the local business here as well.”
The restaurant is expected to create new jobs while providing west side residents with another dining option closer to home.
The new Olive Garden will officially open to the public on Monday.
