Led by five double-digit scorers, the Dallas Mavericks closed out their summer league performance on a strong note Friday night.
Dallas used a quick third-quarter scoring boost to secure an 110-88 victory over the New York Knicks in Las Vegas. With the victory, the Mavericks’ young squad posted a 3-2 record throughout the summer competition.
Darin Green Jr. and Tyler Smith made the most of their minutes off the bench, scoring 21 points each. Green and John Poulakidas particularly stood out with their 3-point shooting as they combined for 11 made shots from beyond the arc.
Poulakidas scored 18 points in the matchup.
Dallas also got another strong performance from Vsevolod Ishchenko. The 6-8 guard filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, three rebounds, seven assists, a steal and one block. Ishchenko hit his stride late in summer league play, posting consecutive double-digit scoring performances in wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Knicks.
Like Ishchenko, Jorge Diaz Graham impressed Friday as an all-around player. The Spanish forward finished the game with 15 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and a steal.
Rookies Morez Johnson Jr. and Sergio De Larrea didn’t play in Dallas’ summer league finale.
In their latest summer league appearance, the Mavericks picked up victories over Memphis, Oklahoma City and New York. Their losses came in the competition’s first two games, where they fell against the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors.
