While the 2026 FIFA World Cup final won’t be played in North Texas, a lot of the tournament’s biggest moments so far have been played here. The championship game will be played at New York New Jersey Stadium at 2 p.m. central time.
The third week of July is one of the biggest earnings periods on the calendar, starting with some budget consumer brands in Domino’s Pizza and Ryanair.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases state employment and unemployment rates for June as Texas tries to improve on its 4.3% jobless rate, slightly higher than the national average of 4.2%.
Tuesday’s earnings include some major players in Dallas-Fort Worth and beyond, including Arlington-based D.R. Horton, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, and Dallas-based fintech company Triumph Financial along with Westlake-based investment giant Charles Schwab. Other major national companies reporting results include Capital One, GM, Alaska Air and Range Resources, a Fort Worth-based natural gas exploration firm.
It’s another day to focus on Wall Street earnings because some of North Texas and the world’s biggest companies share second quarter results. That includes Alphabet, Tesla and IBM. Local companies of interest include Dallas-based Texas Instruments, Southwest Airlines, soon to be Plano-based AT&T, McKinney-based Globe Life and NetStreit Corp.
D-FW interns unite! With internship season at the peak, the Dallas Regional Chamber is hosting a “Say Yes to Dallas” event for interns at the offices of architecture firm Corgan. The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. Registration is required and the cost is $30 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members.
Earnings releases on Thursday for North Texas companies include results for Fort Worth-based American Airlines and Irving food maker Darling Ingredients. Other companies of local interest, but based elsewhere, include Lockheed Martin, Comcast, Nasdaq, Tractor Supply and Harley-Davidson, which all give earnings results on Thursday.
The Census Bureau releases new residential home sales for June, one of the most important selling months of the year.
The week wraps up with financial results for Dallas-based hospital and clinic operator Tenet Healthcare along with national giants such as HCA, American Express and Verizon.
