Norman Fire Department sends four responders to aid Texas Hill Country flooding

NORMAN, OKLA (KOKH) — Multiple first responders from the Norman Fire Department joined rescue and recovery efforts in Texas after heavy flooding impacted the Texas Hill Country.

The Norman Fire Department said one first responder traveled to Texas with Oklahoma Task Force 1 (OKTF1), and the department later sent three more responders to Ozona, Texas.

First responders coordinated and conducted multiple successful rescue missions with OKTF1, the Yukon Fire Department, and Texas Task Force 1 (TXTF1).

NFD said it assisted in evacuating a flooded apartment complex, conducted hazard reconnaissance in the area, and performed equipment repairs and maintenance.

First responders also rescued a man overnight using ropes and tethered swimmers. NFD said the man was treated and released by EMS.
