Kitchen fire damages downtown Dallas restaurant, according to officials

Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) crews were called to Moak’s Family Texas BBQ around midnight Monday for a kitchen fire, according to crews who responded.

No injuries were reported at the restaurant near the intersection of N. Market St. and Elm St., but the cause is still under investigation according to DFR.

Due to the proximity to DART’s West End Station, trains in the area were briefly delayed while fire crews worked to get the scene under control.

The owner of Moak’s told WFAA that they plan to open the restaurant at their regularly scheduled time for lunch service at 11 a.m.
