EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Harry Potter fans in the Borderland will have a chance to experience the magic of Hogwarts in a unique way this fall as the El Paso Symphony Orchestra (EPSO) celebrates the Wizarding World’s 25 Years of Magic with a live performance of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Concert.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Plaza Theatre in downtown El Paso.
During the performance, the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of James Welsch, will perform John Williams’ Academy Award-nominated score live while the entire third Harry Potter film plays in high definition on a 40-foot screen. The performance will also feature the UTEP Choral Union.
The concert is part of the official “Harry Potter Film Concert Series”, created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and CineConcerts.

In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter returns for his third year at Hogwarts alongside Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The story introduces Sirius Black while Harry faces Dementors, Boggarts and other magical challenges. The film’s score by legendary composer John Williams earned an Academy Award nomination and remains one of the franchise’s most celebrated soundtracks.
