95.7 The Fan will serve as a simulcast of the still-existing 610 AM channel, though the move will expand access to the station across the greater Houston area. The new station changed its branding on social media from 610 to 95.7 The Game on Tuesday morning, with its new logo featuring a fitting Houston Oilers blue.
Houston Texans games, as well as the team’s pregame and postgame shows, will now be broadcast on 95.7. The rest of the station’s daily programming schedule will remain in place following Tuesday’s announcement:
6 a.m. to 10 a.m. CT: “Payne and Pendergast”
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT: “In The Loop with John Lopez and Reggie Adetula”
2 p.m. to 6 p.m. CT: “The Drive with Stoerner and Hughley”
Nightly after Texans All Access: “Area 45 with Bijani and Creighton”
“This is a huge announcement for our listeners,” Pendergast told Chron on Tuesday. “If you’re a SportsRadio 610 listener who’s ever dealt with static or the signal dropping off, 95.7 The Fan means those days are over.
“FM signals are where sports fans are listening to their content nationwide these days, so personally I’m thrilled for everyone involved that our incredible management team at Audacy was able to get this done!”
95.7 The Fan is now the third FM sports-radio station in Houston, joining ESPN 97.5 and the Spanish-language sports station TUDN 102.9. SportsRadio 790 remains an AM channel.
Programming from 95.7 The Fan will also be available on the Audacy App and website.
