Houstonian and Peabody award-winning comedian Mo Amer will be joining British-American journalist Mehdi Hasan in October for a conversation about politics, Palestine and comedy at University of Houston’s Cullen Performance Hall.
The event, part of Hasan’s media company Zeteo’s flagship podcast, “We’re Not Kidding,” features live conversations about politics, current events and culture. The Houston stop, set to take place on Oct. 16, will give audiences the opportunity to hear the pair discuss those topics and ask questions during the event.
Tickets range from $50 to $100 before taxes and fees, according to the organization’s website. The pair will also open the floor for questions from attendees

Amer, whose full name is Mohammed Amer, is a comedian and the creator of the Netflix hit show “Mo,” which follows a fictionalized version of him as he navigates life as a Palestinian refugee. The comedian and actor has three stand-up specials under his belt – “The Vagabond,” “Mohammed in Texas” and “Wild World” on Netflix. The series won a Peabody Award in 2023.
Hasan is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author who is also the founder and CEO of Zeteo.
Tickets for the event went on sale June 21.
