EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Pasoans seeking surgical weight-loss and general surgery care will soon have a new option in west El Paso.

The Hospitals of Providence unveiled its new Weight Loss Center West alongside Providence Medical Partners General Surgery and Weight Management during a ribbon-cutting on Wednesday at 4532 N. Mesa Street.

The new site brings the Weight Loss Center West and General Surgery and Weight Management together in one location.

The combined programs are led by Dr. Benjamin Clapp, a board-certified bariatric surgeon and general surgeon.

Clapp joined Providence Medical Partners in 2025. He leads the new General Surgery and Weight Management program and serves as medical director for the Weight Loss Center West.

The Hospitals of Providence said the new center is part of its continued effort to expand services and care for El Paso by offering more patients access to care.
