EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person is dead following an altercation turned shooting in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department on Wednesday, July 22.
The call of the shooting came in shortly after 7 p.m. near an apartment complex at the 3600 block of Fred Wilson.
According to EPPD spokesperson Judy Oviedo, an altercation occurred outside the apartment complex, where one individual shot another person, only identified as a 36-year-old.

The 36-year-old was airlifted and later died from their injuries, Oviedo said.
Oviedo did not identify whether there was one suspect or multiple suspects involved in the shooting; however, there were no arrests, and the person/persons are at large.
She noted that there is no immediate danger to the public and this is an isolated incident.
EPPD’s Crimes Against Persons unit has taken over the investigation.
Oviedo also noted that Military Police can be seen at the scene, but only due to the “close proximity” in which the shooting happened near military property.
