KILT Houston (610) joins the growing ranks of Audacy sports stations to land a home on the FM dial. On Aug. 13 the station will begin simulcasting on 95.7 FM, displacing what is now adult hits “95.7 The Spot” KKHH. It becomes Audacy’s 23rd FM sports station.
Audacy is using the FM simulcast to rebrand the station as “95.7 The Fan.”
The FM launch date is significant as it coincides with the first preseason game for the Houston Texans. As part of this expansion, “95.7 The Fan” will serve as the flagship FM broadcast home for the Houston Texans, whose games will continue on AM flagship 610 AM.
“Houston boasts some of the most passionate sports fans in the country, and they deserve both the content and distribution that matches their energy,” said Chris Oliviero, Chief Business Officer, Audacy. “Between our incredibly entertaining and informative lineup of local hosts and our exclusive partnership with the Texans, we are the ultimate destination for Houston sports fans. Launching 95.7 The Fan as our tenth FM sports station in the top ten U.S. markets is a proud milestone and solidifies Audacy’s leadership in local sports audio. We can’t wait to bring this unbeatable coverage to even more fans so they can join the conversation and stay connected to the teams they love.”
The on-air lineup includes “Payne and Pendergast” (6-10am), “In The Loop with John Lopez and Reggie Adetula” (10am-2pm), “The Drive with Stoerner and Hughley” (2-6pm), and “Area 45 with Bijani and Creighton” (nights after “Texans All Access”).
KILT is the latest Audacy sports station find a home on FM, joining recently launched “97.1 The Fan” KNX-FM Los Angeles, and WGR Buffalo-Rochester, NY. Adding Houston gives the company an FM sports radio presence across all top ten U.S. markets.
