Defensive lineman Dylan Berymon announced his decommitment from the Longhorns on social media Wednesday. A four-star prospect from Monroe, La., Berymon had committed to play for Texas back in June.

The 247Sports composite ranks Berymon as the No. 207 overall prospect in the cycle, its No. 28 defensive lineman and the No. 7 recruit in Louisiana.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 315 pounds, the product of Ouachita Parish High School also took visits to Purdue and Texas Tech before declaring for the Longhorns.

With Berymon out of the fold, the Longhorns’ 2026 class ranks eighth in the country. It still includes four players who are considered edge rushers or defensive linemen, all of whom are ranked in the top 200 nationally.

The Longhorns are one of seven finalists for Jayden Wade, the top quarterback recruit in the class of 2028. He intends to announce his commitment Nov. 16, according to a report from Rivals.

A 6-foot-3 signal caller, Wade attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. He’s originally from California. The other six finalists on his list are Ohio State, Washington, Oregon, Michigan, Georgia and Florida.

The Longhorns have five-star QB Dia Bell locked down in their 2026 class, but do not yet have quarterback commits in the 2027 and 2028 cycles.

According to a report from Rivals, Texas is one of four finalists for edge rusher Jordan Carter, who recently reneged on his Texas A&M commitment. The 6-foot-3 native of Douglasville, Ga., is considered a four-star prospect and is the No. 139 overall recruit in the 2026 class, according to the 247Sports composite. He’s also considering Auburn, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.

Rivals also reported Wednesday that Texas is expected to host LSU commit Brysten Martinez on an official visit. He’s a four-star prospect ranked 106th in the 2026 class. He committed to the Tigers back in February, but LSU recently fired coach Brian Kelly.
