Grier had briefly re-signed with the Carolina Panthers, the team who drafted him in 2019, this offseason before ultimately deciding to retire earlier this month. The Cowboys actually had interest in adding Grier to the coaching staff this off-season before he signed with the Panthers. The offer, it appears, still stood.

Grier played in college at both Florida and West Virginia. He was selected by the Panthers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played in two games as a rookie and completed 28-of-52 passes for 228 yards and four interceptions. That was the only regular season game experience Grier ever had in his career. He never scored a touchdown.

Grier did spend time with a lot of teams, however. In addition to his two stints with the Panthers and Cowboys, Grier also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, the New England Patriots, the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
