HOUSTON — Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston felt the brief, yet impactful presence of Tropical Storm Bertha Thursday afternoon and evening.
By Friday it was clear, which was hard to believe after the on-and-off rain throughout the evening.
“It was rain, it was muggy, you know, I couldn’t go out,” said Rodney Kersaint.
Bertha quickly weakened after moving over the Texas coast, and all that was left behind on Friday was sunny skies and hot temperatures.
“That heat is eating us alive out here,” said Kersaint.
But the rising heat hasn’t stopped people from enjoying the local parks. All day long you can catch people walking, running and biking.
For residents like Kersaint, being prepared for this heat is key.
“If you don’t got no water with you, you probably gonna pass out,” he said. “Hopefully, it cools down a little bit.”
Even though Bertha has passed, this isn’t the end of the heat.
