Former Texas baseball player Callum Early announced this week that he will transfer to Florida State.

After starting his collegiate career at Liberty, Early played with the Longhorns for just one season. The reserve infielder appeared in 11 games this past season. He went hitless over five at-bats.

Of the Texas players who entered the transfer portal this year, Early was the last one to find a new home. Eleven ex-Longhorns have now officially moved on.

Larson was the only departee who was a regular in the Longhorns lineup as he started in left field during UT’s first game and later ended the season as a College World Series qualifier’s first baseman. Courville, Ermis and Monsour combined for 25 starts while both Bing and Flores were used sparingly on the mound. Furgason, Hill, Rummel and Westphal didn’t play at all in 2026.
