Plano police officials say their officers were involved in a shooting on East Hebron Parkway in Carrollton.

Detectives had been running surveillance on a group of burglary suspects who they say are connected to ongoing felony offenses in multiple cities in and around Plano. Police say the group of suspects pulled into a Racetrac gas station around 4:30 Wednesday morning in Carrollton.

Officials say the detectives attempted to approach when the suspects began shooting at them. The detectives returned fire, hitting one of the suspects.

Two suspects were taken into custody at the scene and are currently being held in the Plano City Jail. Police say a third suspect is getting medical care for an injury and will be arrested upon release. The fourth suspect, who was shot, underwent surgery and is recovering at the hospital. They will be arrested upon their release.

Police say they cannot release any more details on three of the suspects due to their age; however, the fourth suspect who was shot is an adult. His identity and charges will be released once available.

None of the officers were injured in the incident, but they are being placed on administrative leave as part of standard policy after a shooting.

The Public Information Officer with Plano says the investigation is ongoing, and more details around the shooting and the burglaries will be released in the coming days.
