Eligible 4-year-olds across the area can attend Fort Worth ISD’s tuition-free Pre-K program, with enrollment now open until available seats are filled.
FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth ISD has opened enrollment for its free full-day Pre-K program for the upcoming school year, offering eligible 4-year-olds from across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex an opportunity to attend while seats remain available.
The tuition-free program is open to qualifying Fort Worth ISD residents as well as eligible families who live outside the district. District officials said the program is designed to help children develop the academic, social and emotional skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond.

Fort Worth ISD opens pre-K enrollment
Children must be 4 years old by Sept. 1 to qualify for the program. Classes begin Aug. 10.
“Choosing a school is one of the first big decisions families make, and our Pre-K program is designed to ignite a love of learning from day one,” Lynsey Charles, the district’s Executive Director of Innovation and School Choice, said in a statement.
“The foundation for future success begins long before graduation. When children have access to highly qualified teachers who create safe, nurturing classrooms, we can help children build the confidence, skills and curiosity they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.”
Fort Worth ISD said the program features free full-day instruction, highly qualified teachers and a research-based curriculum in classrooms designed to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. Students also participate in activities that promote early literacy, social development and emotional growth.
District officials are encouraging families to apply as soon as possible because enrollment will remain open only until available seats are filled.
