EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 41-year-old man was arrested and booked into county jail on Thursday after police said he shot and killed his roommate in Northeast El Paso after an argument.
According to the El Paso Police Department, David Daniel Hall was charged with the murder of 33-year-old Joshua Lopez after he allegedly shot and killed Lopez– his roommate of two years– on Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Fred Wilson.

Police documents state that the neighbor told investigators that at around 7 p.m. Wednesday, Lopez– armed with a knife– knocked on his door asking if he could come in, saying that Hall was reportedly “extremely intoxicated.”
The neighbor said they spoke with Lopez through the door, adding that they then saw Hall allegedly come out of the apartment with what looked like blood on his chest and a cut on his left palm.
Then Hall reportedly kept asking Lopez if they were good, before he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Lopez on the chest.
After the shooting, police believe Hall ran away

Lopez was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
EPPD said Hall was found later and arrested.
Jail records show Hall’s bail is not been set.
Editor’s Note: EPPD had first identified the victim as a 36-year-old; however, on Friday, per their news release, the age of the victim was changed to 33.
