WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A 3-year-old child was flown to Cook Children’s Medical Center after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a residence in Wichita Falls.
According to the Wichita Falls Police Department PIO Sergeant Jacob Vasquez, officers responded to a high-priority check welfare call in the 1200 block of the Santa Barbara area shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, July 24.
The child was initially taken by ambulance to United Regional Emergency Room before being transferred to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth for further treatment, according to Sgt. Vasquez.
Sgt. Vasquez said that the case is still open and active and that investigators have been assigned.
