TEXAS — Communities continue to rebuild after the devastating floods that swept through the Hill Country and South Texas. Now, for a second year, more support is pouring in from communities across Texas and even the country.
One group from Colorado is returning to the Lone Star State with motor homes ready for families that have been displaced by floodwaters.
Woody Faircloth and his daughter founded EmergencyRV after the 2018 Camp Fire devastated Paradise, California.
“We just really realized what a powerful tool RVs can serve as emergency and transitional shelter,” said Faircloth.
Since then, he says they have sheltered over 350 families all over the United States following natural disasters. Faircloth said EmergencyRV helped 18 families following the Texas floods last July, and they were ready again this time.
“As soon as we saw the flooding happening again, we just rallied our team of volunteers and said, ‘We’re going to be busy down in Texas again,’” said Faircloth.
The group says they are already gearing up to send more RVs to those affected by the most recent storms. Right now, they’re finalizing which volunteers will transport the donated vehicles to the state, and they’re hoping to roll in the first few in the coming weeks.
