San Antonians will see a couple of new faces on their TV screens this month as one local station welcomes fresh talent to the team.

Reporter Olivia Dague has joined KSAT 12, coming off a three-year stint at Knoxville, Tennessee’s WBIR. However, Dague isn’t exactly a stranger to the Lone Star State. According to her bio, the University of Oklahoma graduate grew up in Arlington and has family here in the Alamo City. She is “thrilled to move back to the Lone Star State,” her bio reads. 

During her time at WBIR, Dague was versatile in her coverage areas, including politics reporting at the Capitol and severe weather during Hurricane Helene. Dague’s reporting on a “crumbling school” in rural East Tennessee led to a multi-million-dollar renovation and recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists, according to KSAT’s website. But when she’s not on the job, you might catch her with loved ones, playing guitar or hanging out on a patio. 

In a post on LinkedIn, Dague said she “cannot begin to express my gratitude for the incredible coworkers and mentors, the life-changing opportunity to start my career, and the hundreds of stories I’ve had the privilege to tell.” Saying farewell to Tennessee, she wrote that the people there have taught her about resilience after disaster, accountability for elected officials and more.

“Thank you, Knoxville, for the lifelong friendships, great music, beautiful views, and incredible food. Through the hundreds of stories I’ve told here, I’ve met remarkable people and made a home in East Tennessee,” Dague said. “The work I’ve been fortunate to do alongside my incredible coworkers has reminded me why local journalism still matters.”

Dague isn’t the only new face at KSAT 12. The station also welcomed reporter Hunter King, a native of Houston, this month.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hunter King and Olivia Dague to our growing team of dedicated and experienced journalists, focused on serving our viewers where they live,” KSAT 12 News Director Jace Larson said in a statement to MySA. “KSAT12’s focus is deep-rooted reporting in our communities — sharing the stories that matter and bringing answers to our neighbors. Hunter and Olivia’s knowledge and storytelling experience will continue to place a spotlight on the communities we serve.”

Both Dague and King have already started at the station.
