For years, we’ve heard about billionaire radical leftist George Soros, and the Soros Group, bankrolling Democrats across the country. And now they have their sights set on Houston.
According to a new report, a pro-illegal alien group funded by the Soros Group, is now working with Harris County. Specifically, with Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner, Lesley Brio nes.
“I’m not surprised that Lesley Briones, with the county, they’re hooking up on quote “voter engagement” with a George Soros backed NGO” said Cindy Siegel, Chairman of the Harris County Republican Party.
The anti-Republican group, Mi Familia en Accion struck a deal with Harris County to work with Lesley Briones on ‘uplifting Latino voices’ in her district. If the ‘uplift’ sounds familiar? Remember Judge Lina Hidalgo tried to roll out ‘Uplift Harris County’, the radical wealth redistribution scam where local Dems were going to give ‘select’ families (in their districts) $500 a month of taxpayer dollars. It was shot down immediately by the Texas Supreme Court.
This ‘voter engagement’ operation is from the same playbook. Use taxpayer dollars to try and help get votes.
“All they’re doing is using our tax dollars to move their political agenda, and get elected” Siegel told KTRH. Because the county is run and controlled by Democrats, at least for now, there are no checks and balances, no accountability, and no consequences.
“In the case of the George Soros Group, that’s just Lesley Briones wanting to get re-elected” noted Siegel, “George Soros wants to take Texas, and the way you take Texas is through Harris County.”
According to The Texas Voice, Mi Familia en Accion received a $500,000 grant from Soros in 2023. The NGO group is anti-ICE, anti-Trump, and completely against Governor Greg Abbott. They even opposed the Laken Riley Act, which requires the mandatory detention of illegal immigrants who are charged with certain crimes. Thankfully, that has already been signed into law.
We reached out to Commissioner Briones’ office for comment, but they did not respond.
