7-Eleven is planning a new convenience store with fuel services in Seguin, according to new state construction filings that reveal a $1.2 million project is headed for one of the city’s fastest-growing corridors.
The proposed store would be built near State Highway 46 and Rudeloff Road, an area seeing rapid transformation as new neighborhoods, restaurants, retailers and industrial projects continue reshaping the city’s eastern edge.
Filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the project calls for a new 4,816-square-foot, one-story 7-Eleven convenience store with fuel services. Construction is expected to begin January 12, 2027, with completion scheduled for September 9, 2027. All TDLR filings are subject to change without notice.
The privately funded project adds another national brand to Seguin’s expanding commercial landscape as developers continue targeting the growing city between San Antonio and Central Texas.
The development is expected to bring more than 600,000 square feet of retail space, restaurants, multifamily housing, medical facilities, hospitality and a 250-acre industrial component. Infrastructure work began in 2026, with early retail openings expected in late 2027 and larger openings planned for 2028.
Plus, the town has witnessed new retail additions including Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Five Below, James Avery and Chick-fil-A for residents and visitors alike.
The new 7-Eleven would join that wave of growth, adding another convenience stop as Seguin continues its transformation into one of Central Texas’ fastest-growing communities.
The 7-Eleven brand began as a chain of Texas icehouses in 1927 before Japanese retailer Ito-Yokado and Seven-Eleven Japan acquired a majority stake in its parent company in 1991. Today, 7-Eleven Inc. is wholly owned by Tokyo-based Seven & i Holdings, according to the company’s website.
