EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 23-year-old man wanted on an aggravated robbery warrant was arrested Tuesday after El Paso County constables tracked him to a residence in East El Paso, authorities said.
Deputies with the El Paso County Constable’s Office arrested Uriel Alas on an outstanding warrant for aggravated robbery.
According to the constable’s office, deputies received information about Alas’ whereabouts and initiated a traffic stop near the 3200 block of Isla Bahia. Investigators determined Alas was inside a nearby residence, where deputies took him into custody without incident before booking him into the El Paso County Jail.
The aggravated robbery charge stems from an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office investigation into an incident that occurred in late June in the 10300 block of Gateway East.
Investigators said the victim had arranged to sell a necklace through Facebook Marketplace and met with Alas at the agreed location.
Authorities allege Alas forcibly grabbed the necklace and fled in a vehicle. During the getaway, investigators said the suspect ran over the victim’s foot.
