The road is already a dangerous place to be, no matter what your skill level is. However, some drivers are just bent on making things really hard for others on the road.
A woman posted a video to TikTok that shows a box truck in Texas that looks as though it’s seen better days. The entire side of the truck is ripped off, revealing the contents inside.
What’s even worse is that the driver of the truck didn’t seem interested in stopping. In fact, it looked like he was going the speed limit.
If it wasn’t for the people in the vehicle behind them calling the cops, who knows how much further the driver would have gone.
Viral Video Shows Severely Damaged Box Truck Still Cruising Down the Road
Please give the following reel a second to load up.
The video above says that it’s part 2 of the whole incident, but just about all the necessary information can be found here. The video looks to be taken from the point of view of whoever was driving behind the box truck.
It’s never made clear exactly what it was that happened to the truck for it to sustain so much damage. However, considering the damage, I’d like to think that anyone who takes even a glance at the truck would find it undrivable.
Apparently, the driver thought otherwise.
Fortunately, the people in the car behind it called the cops, who show up in the clip to pull over the large truck. Who knows what could have happened had the truck not been stopped.
Even the people recording the video pulled over to make sure to tell the police everything that happened and fill them in on the details.
Commenters Praise the Driver Who Called Police Instead of Looking Away
Commenters were on the side of those who were glad that the original poster intervened. One person wrote, “The ‘mind your business’ crowd really need to look up the murder of Kitty Genovese & educate themselves on what happened & why 911 was created.”
Similarly, another person wrote, “Trucker here. That is your business. Thank you for calling it in. The moment the tractor-trailer hits the road, everyone needs to be aware. Also maintain a safe following distance.”
The truck may have kept rolling like nothing was wrong, but commenters were relieved someone stepped in before things got even worse. After all, a vehicle missing an entire side panel isn’t exactly something you ignore and hope fixes itself.
