GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KJCT) – A Texas man was arrested after allegedly making threats of starting a shooting at the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) said they received a report on Monday at 7 p.m. about a man in the park making threatening remarks after he was reportedly denied access to certain rides due to safety reasons.
The man reportedly became verbally aggressive with the park’s staff and allegedly made comments that he was going to get a firearm and “shoot up the park.”
Despite the park giving the man a refund, he allegedly continued to behave aggressively. The man left before police arrived.
GCSO were able to identity the suspect as Texas man, Lonnie Hubbard. Hubbard was located by GCSO officers on Tuesday and booked into the Garfield County Jail for the following charges:
Harassment (repeated insults/taunts) (misdemeanor)Menacing (intimidation-includes stalking, threats) (misdemeanor)Disorderly Conduct offensive Utterance/ Gesture
In a press release, GCSO said that the department takes all threats of violence seriously, and that any threat involving the safety of the community is thoroughly investigated and swiftly acted on.
