CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police are investigating after a graffiti spree left at least eight businesses and one home tagged along Airline Road early Saturday morning.

Corpus Christi police said the vandalism happened between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on a stretch of Airline Road. Among the businesses hit were an eye clinic and a pet grooming shop. Security video captured the suspect wearing a hoodie spray-painting shutters and walls.
Business owners said the graffiti caused both financial and emotional damage. Willie Hubbard, operations manager at Clear Vision, said the vandalism was disheartening.
“Sad, you know, you invest so much into a practice, especially a place you help children, it’s being destroyed or vandalized,” said Hubbard.
Miranda Alonzo, who owns Miranda’s Elite Grooming, said she was frustrated by the culprit’s actions.
“I’m very passionate about what I do. It’s not easy running a business and upkeeping it as well. To have a stranger come in and spend the time to destroy something we own and be able to walk away from it and not suffer any kind of consequences yet…” she said.
Alonzo said police took a report but told her it could take weeks before the city’s graffiti removal crew arrived to help remove it. Alonzo’s family eventually stepped in with their own pressure washer to clean the damage.
Police said security video is under review, but no arrests have been made. Investigators urged other business owners to file reports, even if they have already cleaned up the graffiti. So far, only four cases from that stretch of Airline Road have been officially documented.
