TYLER, Texas (KETK) — Communities across East Texas are honoring veterans with a variety of events: from parades and ceremonies to raffles and car shows. Nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and schools are joining in celebrations taking place throughout the week and on Veterans Day itself.
Here’s a look at some of the events that are paying tribute to this year’s Veterans Day:

Nov. 11: Bullard High School invites all veterans to their Veterans Day ceremony featuring the high school band, choir, theatre and guest speaker.
CantonGun Barrell CityHuntington
Nov.8: Angelina County’s Veterans Day Parade & Celebration will be hosted in Huntington featuring floats, vendors and singing.
Jacksonville
Nov. 12: VFW Post 3984 is hosting their 6th Annual Veterans Celebration, with free lunch, a free veterans raffle, music and special speakers.
Longview
Nov. 11: Animal Health & Hospital is offering free exams and vaccinations for pets of veterans or active-duty military, coffee from a travelling coffee truck, cookies, popcorn and goodie bags.
Lufkin
Nov. 8: VFW Post 1836 is hosting a Veterans Day Celebration with a car show, food, live music, raffles, vendors and more.
