The Plano Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event where kids can get dirty – all in the name of supporting others.
The Chamber’s Back to School Color Run event is 8 – 11 a.m. on Saturday at Lathrop Park in Plano.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. The Color Run is from 8:30 to 9 a.m., and the After Party is from 9 to 11 a.m.
The Chamber said proceeds from the event directly contribute to its scholarship fund, “empowering our graduating high school students to achieve their dreams.”

Executive Director Tiffany Forristall said last year, the Chamber distributed more than 400 backpacks to students. Last year’s event featured more than 60 runners getting covered in brightly-colored paint.
“Working alongside local not-for-profits, we collectively donated hundreds of backpacks, making a tangible difference in our community,” Forristall said in a release.
The After Party features a foam pit party, bounce house, and family-fun activities.
Forristall said the event is open to families, both inside and outside the Plano School District 88, and any businesses “eager to connect with the community.”
