A delivery and logistics company owned by The Home Depot is laying off 71 workers in Dallas amid the end of its operations at a delivery center in the city’s Mountain Creek neighborhood bordering Grand Prairie.
Home Express Delivery Service, doing business as Temco Logistics, is ceasing operations at the Dallas Flatbed Delivery Center at 9222 W. Jefferson Blvd., according to a WARN notice filed with the state. Employees affected by the layoff will be separated from employment beginning Sept. 26.
Temco Logistics, headquartered in Pomona, Calif., was purchased by The Home Depot in 2023, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. It provides a variety of logistics services, including last-mile and white-glove delivery for appliances and furniture, serving markets across the country.
The company said in a statement it is discontinuing flatbed delivery services in order to focus on its core box truck delivery and installation operations, affecting operations at six flatbed delivery centers across the country.
“This will allow us to concentrate resources, improve execution, and better support customers in the areas where we have the deepest experience,” the company said. “We’re grateful for the work of the employees at these facilities and intend to support them with separation packages and transitional benefits.”
The company has also filed WARN notices in Florida and Georgia, where it is also exiting flatbed delivery centers, for a total of 223 job losses across the three states.
