A 55-year-old North Texas man who shot multiple rounds into his neighbor’s living room while high on meth and hallucinating has been sentenced to prison, prosecutors said.
A jury found Mike Lopez guilty of deadly conduct with a firearm, and he was sentenced to 35 years, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office said in a social media post.
In June 2025, Lopez, while experiencing paranoia after using methamphetamine and believing intruders were trying to break into his Arlington apartment, fired the gunshots into his neighbor’s home, the DA’s office said.
He ultimately fired more than 16 rounds from his bedroom, prosecutors said.
The next day Lopez repeatedly called police, claiming he was shooting at armed robbers. He later admitted to using meth for four days and knowing it caused hallucinations, according to the DA’s office.
Lopez is appealing the conviction, court records show.
