Medical Examiner’s have identified the victim as 28-year-old Elizabeth Gonzalez. Gonzalez’ family has been notified.
A 65-year-old Corpus Christi man has been arrested and charged with murder after police found a woman dead inside a Christie Street home early Monday morning.

According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers responded around 12:45 a.m. to the 4100 block of Christie Street after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a woman dead inside the residence.
Police initially detained a man at the scene. After interviewing him, investigators identified him as Alberto Valdez, 65. He was transported to the City Detention Center, where he was booked on a murder charge.
Investigators said Valdez and the victim knew each other.
The woman’s identity has not been released.
Robbery-Homicide detectives continue to investigate the case, and no additional details have been released.
