COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – There’s a free resource at Texas A&M that helps tackle food insecurity across campus.
“The 12th Can is Texas A&M’s student-run on campus food pantry,” said Anahi Gallegos, The 12th Can associate director. “We service all Texas A&M staff, faculty and students no matter the income or cost.”
Gallegos said they typically serve around 4,000 to 5,000 people each year.
“It can get up to 11,000 if you count repeat visits from people who might be a little more food insecure,” said Gallegos.
The pantry is open once a month during the summer.
On August 19, the pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In September, it will go back to being open every other Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The 12th Can is located at 330 Agronomy Rd. in College Station.
