The longtime Corpus Christi cardiologist and former CHRISTUS Spohn chief of cardiology spent more than 30 years caring for Coastal Bend patients.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend is remembering a physician who spent more than three decades caring for patients and advancing cardiovascular medicine throughout the region.
Dr. John Douglas “Doug” Pappas served as Chief of Cardiology at CHRISTUS Spohn Health System and as president of Cardiology Associates of Corpus Christi. During his career, he helped improve heart care for countless patients across the Coastal Bend while earning the respect of colleagues and the community.
Dr. Pappas passed away peacefully last week.
Family, friends, colleagues, and members of the community are expected to gather on Friday morning to celebrate his life. A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Seaside Funeral Home.
Dr. Pappas is remembered for his decades of service, leadership and dedication to improving cardiovascular care in South Texas.
