HOUSTON – The new school year is rapidly approaching and with its arrival, so is the reality of lunches for children.
Some families may qualify for free or reduced cost meals for their children at Houston ISD schools, but there is a process to determine and apply for it.
Application
Families will need to fill out the HISD School Nutrition Meal Application. To do this, you must access your SchoolCafé account. The district encourages all families to complete an application, even if they are unsure whether they qualify.
Families at schools not participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program will need to complete a Free/Reduced-Price Meal Application to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch meals.
The following schools are not participating in the CEP program this year:
Baker Montessori
Briarmeadow Charter School
Bush Elementary School
Condit Elementary School
Harvard Elementary School
Helms Elementary School
Horn Elementary School
