EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person is dead after a crash late Thursday night, July 30 along Interstate 10 the state line, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Another person was arrested and is facing a charge of DWI with an underage passenger.

The crash happened at about 11 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 10 East near Mile Marker 2 and snarled traffic until about 1 p.m. on Friday.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling east on Interstate 10 while towing a flatbed trailer. A car, traveling behind the pickup truck, struck the rear of the trailer and a vehicle that was being transported on the trailer.
The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition. The passenger in the car suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The person who was killed was identified as 75-year-old Silvia Resendez of El Paso.
During the investigation, deputies also determined that the driver of the pickup, the vehicle that was rear-ended, was intoxicated.
Twenty-nine-year-old Victor Alonso Saucedo-Torres was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger under 15 years of old. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond of $7,500.
The crash remains under investigation.
