A man was injured, and a woman is in custody after an apparent family violence incident near Fort Worth’s Historic Southside neighborhood early Saturday, Aug. 1, police say.

An apparent family violence incident near Fort Worth’s Historic Southside neighborhood early Saturday injured one person and led to an arrest, police said.
Officers responded to the 1600 block of East Hattie Street about 1 a.m. after someone called 911 to report a woman had stabbed her uncle in the neck, according to the call sheet.
Police said they found a man with a minor laceration to the neck. He was evaluated by medical personnel at the scene and didn’t need treatment at a hospital.
The suspect was taken into custody and later transported to a local hospital for evaluation, police said. It’s not clear if she was injured.
Police records identify the woman as 41-year-old Simone Roshelle Thomas. She faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.
