Saturday AfternoonWeekend Cold Front:
Houston, get ready — a strong front drops us from near 90° Saturday to wind chills in the 30s Monday morning! We’re talking tank tops and air conditioning to puffer jackets and heaters in about 36 hours.
A strong cold front will pass through Saturday evening, and it will be a dry passage, meaning we’re not expecting any showers or storms, but it will bring a wind shift and a temperature drop.
Saturday Cold Front
Behind the front, we will see a really breezy Sunday. Expect winds from the north around 20mph gusting to 30. This will drop highs on Sunday to the upper-60s.
Sunday Morning
By Monday morning we’re waking up near 40 degrees, which means jackets, sweaters and maybe even a beanie.
This is ahead of a super cold Tuesday morning. We could see a few locations in the Brazos Valley and Piney Woods in the mid-to-lower 30s which means a frost advisory isn’t out of the question.
Morning Lows
Monday will be a genuinely cold day for us with highs in the upper-50s. Now if you like the cold, make sure to enjoy Monday. This cold blast won’t last long and by the middle of next week we’ll be back to near 80 degrees. We are in Houston after all.
Afternoon HighsYour extended forecast:
One thing to notice is that we have no rain on our 10 day forecast. As of Thursday over 80% of SE Texas is under drought conditions and some western counties are in extreme drought. With our dry conditions and gusty winds we will have to be extra mindful of the wildfire risk.
