EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — After an alleged assault incident at an East-Central El Paso Starbucks that went viral, a 53-year-old woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
Naomi Hernandez was arrested on two warrants for assault causing bodily injury. She was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $10,000 bond. According to jail records, she posted bond and was released on Thursday, July 30.

The warrants stemmed from a physical altercation that happened on Monday, July 20, at a Starbucks located at 6669 Gateway West.
In the video uploaded to social media, a woman — later identified as Hernandez — and a Starbucks employee are seen yelling at each other. Hernandez repeatedly tells the employee, “Don’t touch me.” The employee is heard yelling, “There are cameras here. Stop that right now.”
It is unclear what led up to the verbal altercation.
The Starbucks employee is then heard speaking with a 9-1-1 operator, saying, “Hello, there’s a public disturbance on Airway. A woman just put her hands on me. She’s putting her hands on the customers.”
At the same time, a man is seen stepping in between Hernandez and the employee and the man is seen telling something to Hernandez, and pointing to the door. It is unclear what he told her, but Hernandez fired back, saying, “You shut up.”
Hernandez again tells the man to “shut up” and the two begin a verbal argument.
The person holding the phone is then heard saying, “She just choked me. This lady just choked me.”
Hernandez sees the person recording the incident and begins to approach her, saying, “Stop recording, dummy.” She is seen attempting to swat the phone away.
The person then flips the camera to show the alleged choking victim and Hernandez again tells her, “Stop recording. You’re so stupid. Let me record you.”
Employees are then heard yelling, “Hey, stop touching her!” but it is unclear what happened, as the video panned to a wall.
The video cuts and Hernandez is then seen walking towards the door and an employee following behind her.
Hernandez then appears to have hit the employee with her hand as she walks out of the store. Someone is then heard saying, “Get out of here!”
The video cuts again as Hernandez is leaving in her vehicle, and an employee is heard saying, “She’s trying to hit me with her car too.”
At around 12:15 a.m. on July 30, deputies were dispatched to the 12600 block of State Street after receiving information about Hernandez’s location. Deputies made contact with her, confirmed the active warrants, and took her into custody without incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The video cuts to deputy body camera footage to show Hernandez in handcuffs. The deputy tells her, “Relax, Ms. Hernandez. I’m gonna walk you to the unit. You need to relax, OK? Stop resisting.”
Hernandez cuts off the deputy, saying, “No, you’re the one who’s tightening it (the handcuffs).”
One deputy tells Hernandez that she’s wanted for two warrants. Hernandez is heard saying, “Whatever dude, cause those are all lies. You believe what you want to believe.” She is also heard saying, “People believe anything in the media. I have nothing to hide.”
The deputy attempts to reassure Hernandez, saying, “Don’t worry, Ms. Hernandez, this doesn’t mean you’re guilty. This just means there’s a warrant.”
Hernandez is heard telling the deputy, “I’m not guilty,” and “I don’t want to face the judge.”
“No matter where you commit a crime, if you’re wanted by law enforcement, we will work together to find you and bring you to justice,” El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. “Keeping our community safe requires teamwork, and that’s exactly what you’ll continue to see from our local law enforcement agencies.”
