The Mountain Mike’s Pizza chain continues its expansion in North Texas with the opening of its new restaurant in Murphy, in Collin County on July 30.

This new location — its 16th in Texas — is at 511 E. FM 544. Additionally, the chain has locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Washington and Wisconsin.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza is known for its large pizzas, including a 20-inch option. The menu also features specialty pizzas, such as a Zesty Aloha Pizza with mango, or a Spicy Himalayan Pizza with tikka masala-marinated chicken, as well as chicken wings, salads and other sides.

The restaurant occupies 2,500 square feet and offers dine-in, takeout and delivery service. Inside, it features eight screens for sporting events, an outdoor patio, a children’s play area, free Wi-Fi, and a pizza and salad buffet for lunch.

The chain was founded in Palo Alto, Calif., in 1978, and has since opened 300 locations across 10 states.

The Murphy restaurant will be operated by franchisees Timothy Fogarty and Vanessa Lomelí-Fogarty, a married couple from Texas who already own another location of the chain in Fulshear, 30 miles west of Houston.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
