Another familiar face in San Antonio television news is signing off. KSAT 12 morning anchor Sarah Acosta announced Friday that she’s leaving the station after eight years.
She said she is stepping away from the news industry after a 16-year career, though she plans to share details about her next chapter soon. Her final broadcast is scheduled for Saturday, August 8.
Before arriving in San Antonio, she reported in Sacramento and Corpus Christi. Acosta joined KSAT in 2018 and went on to become a familiar face on Good Morning San Antonio, covering major stories across South Texas.
In her announcement, Acosta reflected on the personal milestones she experienced during her time at KSAT, including buying a home, getting married and starting a family. She welcomed her first child earlier this year after announcing her pregnancy in 2024.
“I am most sad about leaving my KSAT family behind,” she wrote. “Thank you to our viewers who have been so warm and welcoming to me, and I will continue to see you around San Antonio.”
Acosta’s departure comes during a year of notable changes at KSAT. Earlier this year, the station confirmed a round of layoffs as part of what parent company Graham Media Group described as a business and operational review, saying the cuts were not performance-related. More recently, the newsroom has welcomed new reporters Hunter King and Olivia Dague as it continues to evolve.
