For drivers cruising along I-35 between San Antonio and Austin, the new Costco gas station in New Braunfels could become a convenient stop to fill up the tank. But before pulling into the pumps, there is one thing drivers should know before making the stop.
The new warehouse sits just off Interstate 35, placing it directly along a major route used daily by commuters, road trippers and travelers moving between the two metropolitan cities.
For years, shoppers in the New Braunfels area had to drive to Costco locations in Kyle or North San Antonio for warehouse runs and fuel. The new location brings those services closer to a rapidly growing stretch of Central Texas.
No. Costco fuel stations are members-only, meaning drivers must have an active Costco membership to purchase gas, according to Costco’s website.
According to Costco’s website, there is one exception, which includes customers using a prepaid Costco Shop Card can buy fuel without a membership.
At the pump, customers must scan their Costco membership card before paying. The station accepts Visa cards, most PIN debit cards and prepaid Costco Shop Cards.
The New Braunfels Costco features a large fuel station with 32 fueling positions, including diesel options, designed to handle high traffic along the I-35 corridor.
