On Aug. 5, The Mexican will host an exclusive dinner
Dallas diners will have a rare chance to experience one of Mexico’s most celebrated restaurants.
On Aug. 5, The Mexican will host Michelin-starred chef Esteban Lluis, executive chef of Damiana in Valle de Guadalupe, for an exclusive one-night dining event featuring a multi-course tasting menu inspired by contemporary Mexican cuisine.
With just 300 seats available, the collaboration offers a limited opportunity to sample the cooking that earned Damiana a Michelin star.
A Taste Of Michelin-Starred Mexico
Chef Lluis leads the kitchen at Damiana, located on the Viñedos de la Reina estate in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico’s premier wine region. The restaurant has gained international recognition for its modern approach to Mexican cuisine, emphasizing seasonal ingredients, regional flavors and refined technique.
For his Dallas appearance, Lluis has created a five-course menu showcasing seafood, slow-cooked meats and thoughtfully crafted desserts.
The meal begins with a trio of starters, including smoked fish paté with mussels escabeche and salsa macha, bluefin tuna tiradito and kampachi ceviche. Seafood continues to take center stage with pescado zarandeado served alongside pipián verde and avocado salad, followed by a rich seafood arroz meloso featuring abalone, spider crab, clams and sofrito.
For the main course, guests will choose between braised prime short rib with coloradito mole, plantain purée, lacto-fermented habanero and blue corn tortillas, or duck served with carrot purée, morita-orange gastrique, crispy Brussels sprouts, rainbow carrots and duck jus.
Dessert rounds out the evening with a frangipane tart paired with seasonal fruit and vanilla bean-miso ice cream.
Wine And Tequila Pairings Available
Guests can enhance the tasting menu with optional wine or tequila pairings, each selected to complement the flavors of every course. Those looking for the full experience can add both pairings to the meal.
“At The Mexican, we’re passionate about introducing our guests to extraordinary culinary experiences that celebrate the richness and innovation of Mexican cuisine,” said Matthew Sikes, general manager of The Mexican. “Hosting Chef Lluis for one evening allows us to share the artistry of one of Mexico’s Michelin-starred chefs while creating an unforgettable dining experience for Dallas.”
Only 300 Seats Available
The event will be split into two seatings of 150 guests each at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Tickets are $225 per person for the five-course dinner, with optional wine and tequila pairings available for an additional $75 each.
