Brooke Loftis Elmore, DDS, MAGD, of Waxahachie, Texas, has been selected as an at-large nominee for the Texas Academy of General Dentistry’s (Texas AGD) Texas Dentist of the Year Award. This award is considered the most prestigious honor a Texas dentist can earn.
Dr. Elmore is one of 16 distinguished dentists nominated for this year’s award. She and the other nominees will be honored at the Texas Academy Awards on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Each nominee will be recognized and will receive an engraved plaque. The Texas Academy Awards will conclude with the announcement of the 2026 Texas Dentist of the Year.

For the past 15 years, Dr. Elmore has provided comprehensive dental care to patients in Ellis County through her practice, Buffalo Creek Dental in Waxahachie. A graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry, she completed a two-year general practice residency at the Medical College of Georgia before returning to Texas to build a practice centered on exceptional patient care, continuing education and service to her community.
Throughout her career, Dr. Elmore has been a tireless advocate for general dentistry and one of Texas AGD’s most dedicated volunteer leaders. Her service to the organization has included roles as director, editor, secretary/treasurer, president-elect, president and immediate past president, as well as advocacy council chair and delegate to the Academy of General Dentistry House of Delegates. She has represented the interests of Texas dentists and their patients before legislators, regulators and organized dentistry leaders at both the state and national levels, helping shape policies that support the profession and improve access to quality oral healthcare.
Dr. Elmore’s commitment to mentorship and professional development extends far beyond her private practice. She previously served as director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program and assistant director of the General Practice Residency Program at the Georgia Health Sciences University College of Dental Medicine. She continues to serve as a volunteer faculty instructor at the Dental College of Georgia and regularly mentors dental students, residents and aspiring dentists through educational programs, shadowing opportunities and professional guidance.
A strong believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Elmore earned Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2011 and achieved Mastership in 2021, a distinction earned by fewer than two percent of dentists nationwide. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Pierre Fauchard Academy. Her dedication to service includes participation in Texas Mission of Mercy, Georgia Mission of Mercy, community dental outreach events and international volunteer work providing dental care to underserved populations in Chile.
