Amarillo police chase ends in officer-involved shooting; Texas Rangers investigating

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — An early morning police chase ended in an officer-involved shooting in Amarillo.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the pursuit of a GMC pickup began around 4 a.m. Monday.

DPS troopers and Potter County sheriff’s deputies joined the chase, which ended near Skyline Drive and Angelus Drive.

An officer-involved shooting occurred at the scene.

DPS has not said whether the suspect was injured or killed.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.
